I went here because I saw a 4.7 review, but this place is completely overpriced, portions are pitiful, they don't do military discounts anymore apparently because of new management. Save your money and go somewhere else this place is not worth it.
The fish wasn’t fresh and I paid $20 for one bowl, more expensive than any other poke places around here.
Went at 7:30pm, about 30 minutes before close. Basic interior. Service was fine, nothing special. The rice, crab salad, and salmon were fresh. Skimpy on the sauce, toppings, and garnishes for a $18 meal. Out of a few toppings like avocado and green onion. Small variety of toppings compared to competitors. The spicy mayo was bland. The worst thing was that the white onion was definitely expired and it ruined the entire bowl. With some improvements this place could be a lot better. But for now, I'd recommend going somewhere else. There's no reason to pay market pricing for a lesser experience than competitors provide.
My friend and I are never coming back. Almost $20 for a small bowl with small portions and horrible customer service. Most of the good reviews on here are from 3+ years ago. My friend ordered a poke bowl w/ salad. She thought they had yellowtail and asked for that. The girl said “we don’t have yellowtail, it’s albacore” and proceeded to scoop the albacore in her bowl anyway. They don’t mix the fish in a separate bowl with the sauces like other places do. They scoop the fish on your base and then just drizzle the sauces on top so it’s not really marinated if that’s your preference. Canned pineapple was also very sour. I ordered a poke bowl with white rice. The rice was cool to touch, a little on the cold side. I noticed they don’t close the pot all the way either so either the rice was old or they aren’t closing things properly to regulate temperature. They also have a health code violation that says it’s been corrected for food temperature by the way. I also saw another review that mentioned the cold, hard rice. I brought my food back and asked for salad instead of rice. No apologies. Did not check the pot or anything, the other person just continued packing online orders.
I love this poke place. They are super friendly and fast! The person who helped me was helpful by explaining their ingredients and what the sizes were, without getting annoyed or bothered by me asking questions. I was served very quickly and it is a good amount of food. Very filling and delicious. Always fresh..I'm seriously always recommending people go here. Haha :) Want to add as well, the pricing is a bit up there but it is a good value for how much food they actually give you and considering its fresh ingredients. Update: Still stand by this review. Took my boyfriend there and he actually got full (that dude eats a ton) they also started serving ramen! Have not tried it but will do so next time I go. 😊
Poke Kai - Easily in Top 3 Poke Spots of LB. This spot is never a disappointment. Great flavors, options, and sizes for the bowls. The food is always very fresh and the staff do not skimp on portions. Love their Sauce. Love the Beverage options - Yummy Milk Tea. Everyone is always very cheerful and the wait is generally minimal. Small venue. Recommend this place to anyone in need of good Poke on the East Side of Long Beach. 👍
Probably the best poke place in this area. I like the fact they have pre-made hawaiian-style poke but also raw fish where you can add your own sauces. No public restroom in the restaurant, but some places to go in the plaza. Lots of ingredients. But a but small interior with outdoor seating as well. Prices were very reasonable. And the drinks were good.
Great place! Hubby liked too especially because he is in a keto diet he was able to get only what he can eat. You can healthy and not healthy lol
